Spring Drive & Lunch

Wednesday 8th May

We have organised a Spring run in the Charnwood Forest area of Leicestershire incorporating a motor museum and lunch.

For 10:30, we meet at Stonehurst Farm, Mountsorrel, just south of Loughborough LE12 7AA to have coffee/tea followed by a conducted tour, paid for by Midland Centre, of the Duffin family’s eclectic private vehicle museum.

Stonehurst Farm Motor Museum

As well as farm animal attractions for children, Stonehurst Farm has a Motor Museum housing a fantastic collection of veteran, vintage and classic cars, motorcycles and motoring memorabilia, built up over the last 50 years by the Duffin family. Many of the cars and motorcycles on display are still running, and attend regular vintage motoring events throughout the year, including hill-climb and trialling events.

Exhibits include, Leicestershire’s first motorised bus, 1930’s period garage, motorbikes from 1911 “TT” Ariel through to classic Vincent, cars ranging from an original unrestored 1911 Wolseley, Austin 7’s, Vauxhall 30-98, to 1960’s sports cars and not to mention, a Frog Eye Sprite!

Following our visit to Stonehurst Farm, we have an approximate 30 mile jaunt around the scenic Charnwood Forest area, taking in Cropston and Swithland reservoirs, Mt St Bernard’s Abbey etc. Finally, we finish for for a 1:30 lunch at The Copt Oak, Markfield, LE67 9QB.

We have been asked to pre-order the lunch and we ask that you to complete the form below. On submission, you should get a copy by email. Lunch options are from their set menu, 2 courses £15.50, 3 courses £18.25 (Full descriptions available to view on line.)
