Sunday 26th April 2026
The FBHVC created Drive-It Day to celebrate the occasion in 1900 when 65 vehicles drove from London to Edinburgh and back to celebrate the repeal of the Red Flag Act and prove the viability of the motor car. It is always held on the Sunday closest to this 23rd April anniversary. It now raises much money for charity adding a wider social contribution to our National Awareness Day. Your £12.50 per car entry fee for this event will be used to cover the cost of a Childline Rally Plate.
This year’s drive it day event is still in the making however, to keep members informed, this page reflects the current state of play. As arrangements become finalised it will be updated and ultimately include a booking form for you to take part in the event.
With Midlands Centre covering such a large area, organising just one drive it day event has inevitably meant some members having to travel a large distance just to get to the start. In some cases, members have had a round trip in excess of 200 miles by the time that they get back home. So going forward, the committee has decided that it will be better for our local groups to each organise their own event with support from the committee and booking through this website.
