For the third year running, Midland Centre returned to Elford Walled Garden for its annual concours.
The Elford Hall Garden Project began life in 2009 with the objective of saving the walled garden from development as housing. The project is entirely conceived, delivered and maintained by volunteers. The garden offers a range of allotments, an orchard, flower borders, a rose garden, a sensory garden and has many interesting historical features.
After two weeks of continuous rain it was touch and go whether Sunday would be wet or dry however, we were very fortunate with only a few brief light showers. We had 18 cars displayed on the lawns and judging got underway at 11:00am. The cars were scrutinised and judging completed by 3:00pm. Whilst the results were being calculated we all enjoyed a cream tea with fresh strawberries before the awards were presented
