Drive it Day

Sunday 21st April 2024

  • Start & Refreshments: at Lickey Hills Visitor Centre. Cofton Hackett, Birmingham B45 8ER
  • Finish & Lunch: at The Half Moon Inn. 174 Salthouse Road, Jackfield, Telford, Shropshire, TF8 7LP

The FBHVC created Drive-It Day to celebrate the occasion in 1900 when 65 vehicles drove from London to Edinburgh and back to celebrate the repeal of the Red Flag Act and prove the viability of the motor car. It is always held on the Sunday closest to this 23rd April anniversary. It now raises much money for charity adding a wider social contribution to our National Awareness Day. Your £12.50 per car entry fee for this event will be used to cover the cost of a Childline Rally Plate.

After a 10am meeting up for refreshments at Lickey Hills Visitor Centre we will embark on a 40 mile scenic drive at around 11am pulling in Much Wenlock before finishing for lunch at the Half Moon Inn near Ironbridge. A complementary bacon/sausage sandwich and a hot drink will be provided at Lickey Hills but entrants will be responsible for the cost of their own food and drink at the Half Moon Inn.

We have not included the full Half Moon menu on the booking form as there is far too much choice to manage here. However, the menus can be downloaded to see a full description of the dishes included, MENU-2 MENU-3. Also, it should be possible to add some of the side dishes on the day.

Entry Fee:

The entry fee is £12.50 per car payable by BACS.
